Although the technology for conducting video consultation has been available for a number of years now, most patients have been reluctant to embrace this technology for traditional GP consultations. Now that GP practices have been forced to employ the technology as a result of social distancing many practices are finding it very effective for managing their clinics. When conducting a virtual consultation, practices often find that the number of patients who fail to attend an appointment is lower, consultations are quicker and their clinics can be more flexible and so can be adapted to better accommodate the patients’ requirements.
