What are they?

TCA peels are medical peels that are different to exfoliation treatments that can be carried out at home.

Following your peel you’ll find your skin´s texture is refined and your complexion becomes clearer and brighter.

There are three different levels of peel: superficial, medium or deep, depending on the depth to which the skin is treated. All peels should be carried out by an experienced aesthetic practitioner. Depending on the condition of your skin and the results you are looking for, your aesthetic practitioner will help you choose the peel and daily care products you need.

Only your aesthetic practitioner is qualified to do this. To optimise peeling results whilst keeping secondary effects to a minimum it is essential that you use the products recommended by your aesthetic practitioner. Ask your practitioner about the perfectly complimentary daily care products available at the clinic.

How do they work and what are they used for? The purpose of a peel is to remedy skin ageing, pigmentation marks, acne scars, seborrhoea, etc. There are four peels administered by the clinic:

EASY PHYTIC SOLUTION: TO GIVE YOUR SKIN A NEW GLOW
This is a slow-release, superficial peel designed for those of you who don’t want or can’t afford to have visible flaking. Easy Phytic evens out the complexion and has a marked tightening effect. It helps erase acne marks.

EASY DROXY VERSICOLOR: EVENS OUT THE SKIN COMPLEXION AND TIGHTENING EFFECT
Easy Droxy Versicolor Peel (EDVP) is a Medical Device used for superficial peelings. The EDVP peeling gel is designed for the following indications: Active acne treatment: comedonal, papular, papulo pustular. Treatment of Dyskeratoses: localized Hyperkeratosis. Treatment of photo ageing and its consequences.

EASY TCA: TO TREAT FINE LINES, DISCOLOURATION (MELASMA), ACNE
This is a highly effective medium peel that is well tolerated by the skin. It is applied in 4 weekly sessions. There is no downtime and you can carry on with your activities as normal.

EASY TCA PAIN CONTROL: MAXIMUM COMFORT DURING THE PEELING
This is a highly effective medium peel that is well tolerated by the skin. It is applied in 4 weekly sessions. There is no downtime and you can carry on with your activities as normal.

How are they administered?

EASY PHYTIC SOLUTION
While the peel is being applied, you will feel a tingling sensation. At the end of the session, your practitioner massages the treated areas until the tingling sensation all but stops. The tingling may come and go for up to an hour after the peel. Over the next few days after the peel, your skin will flake ever so slightly, if at all. Apply at least SPF 30 starting from the day following the first peeling.

EASY DROXY VERSICOLOR
While the peel is being applied, you will feel a tingling sensation. At the end of the session, your practitioner massages the treated areas until the tingling sensation stops. There is no need to prepare the skin beforehand. Apply at least SPF 30 starting from the day following the first peeling.

EASY TCA
There is no need to prepare the skin beforehand. While the peel is being applied, you will feel a sensation of warmth on your face that is perfectly bearable. The first 2 days after the peel, your face feels a little tight. The 3rd and 4th day, your skin will flake more noticeably. Apply at least SPF 30 starting from the day following the first peeling.

EASY TCA PAIN CONTROL

What results can I expect after my treatment?
Depending on the peel you undertake fine wrinkles will be greatly improved, acne reduced and hyperpigmented marks will be greatly improved. Following your peel your skin will be softer and more sensitive so it is important for at least a week you use sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 at all times even when indoors. Following the initial week after your treatment it is recommend that you continue to protect your skin to maintain the benefits of the peel.

Pre Treatment preparations
Before undergoing any of the peels you should not have laser hair removal in the area to be treated one week prior to your treatment. retinoic acid based products should not be used one week prior to your treatment nor should you have used acids or exfoliated your skin. If you have herpes, active cold sores or warts they must be treated prior to your treatment. Any radiotherapy or Roaccutane treatments must have been ended at least 12 months prior to undergoing your peel. If you are pregnant or have an allergy to Aspirin you should not undergo a peel. The following should be avoided in the week prior to your peel:

• Excessive sun exposure
• Depilatory creams
• Waxing Laser hair removal
• Electrolysis
• Exfoliating
• Hydroquinone
• retinoic acid

In addition to this benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid cleansers and toners should be stopped 2 days prior to your peel. You can resume the use of these product 24-48 hours after your treatment. Before applying a peel, you will be required to remove your jewellery (necklace, earrings, etc.) to avoid any reaction or redness. You can put them back on again 2 or 3 days later.
