Brigstock Skin and Laser is open throughout the national lockdown

That’s right. Your Brigstock Skin and Laser Centre will remain open providing selected treatments (including hair removal) throughout this second national lockdown. This is because the clinic is registered as a medical service with the Care Quality Commission and meets with the strict clinical infection control guidelines stipulated by the regulatory body. This means that the centre can continue to deliver clinical treatments until government guidance changes which at the time of writing now seems unlikely. It is hoped that the centre’s medical registration and our clinical infection control measures will allow the centre to remain open providing clinical treatments throughout this and any future lockdowns.

If however the lockdown measures are tightened to the extent that the centre is instructed to cease treatments it is hoped that because of our medical status and standards of care it will only be for the shortest possible period of time and will allow us to reopen quickly. This is because as with the original lockdown, medical services should be the first services to reopen to allow the population access to clinically important treatments.

At the end of the summer lockdown the government expressed its wish for elective treatments to restart. At that point our insurers confirmed that all treatments where a medical need for treatment was identified could re-start immediately. Typical diagnosis for the treatments offered at Brigstock skin and laser include:

  • Hirsutism – excessive growth in women of dark or coarse hair in a male-like pattern to the face, chest and back
  • Hypertrichosis – excessive hair growth over and above the normal for the age, sex and race of an individual
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome
  • Psychological impact
  • Headaches
  • Hyperhidrosis

It is based upon the continued diagnosis where required of a medical need for treatment that we will continue to provide your treatments for as long as possible. If government guidance changes we will inform you as soon as possible.

As in the original lockdown the centre will remain open and continue to provide virtual consultations where possible and to provide clinical prescriptions for the topical treatments used by our clients.

In the meantime if you would like further clarification or would like to speak with one of the team regarding your treatments please do call the centre on 020 8683 6730 or click here to send us a message.
