Jane Iredale mineral makeup now at Brigstock Skin & Laser

Lo res Colour_Chart_ImagewithlogoBrigstock Skin & Laser Centre is proud to introduce the prestigious Jane Iredale range of mineral cosmetics, the innovative skincare make-up derived from micronized minerals.  Now women in the South London area can benefit from the brand used by top make-up artists and worn by stars such as Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Anastacia and Rihanna, for whom it is so important to maintain a naturally healthy skin.

“The beauty of Jane Iredale mineral cosmetics is that they are suitable for all skin types, and particularly beneficial to sensitive skin that tends to react to certain ingredients found in most conventional make-up,” says Dr Nilu Vajpeyi, Principal Dermatologist at Brigstock Skin & Laser.

”The formulations are free from the top three sensitizers – perfume, chemical dyes and preservatives. Mineral make-up is derived from pure concentrated pigments such as titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, offering flawless, long-Printlasting coverage and colour without irritation, while promoting a healthy complexion. Just a small amount will cover any type of redness or blemish, including acne and rosacea yet it feels feather-light.”

The bases act as concealer, foundation, powder and sunscreen all in one (no need for separate foundation and powder). They do not contain pore-clogging, drying fillers such as talc and cornstarch and give natural SPF 20 protection against ageing UV rays. Layers of overlapping mineral crystals prevent excessive moisture-loss, while still allowing the skin to breathe, and are light-reflective to obscure fine lines and wrinkles. The minerals’ anti-inflammatory properties also make them ideal for use after facials, waxing, peels, micro-dermabrasion and laser resurfacing.

Former casting director and producer Jane Iredale began to see the need for a new type of make-up, having worked with leading actresses for whom a perfect complexion was paramount. Introduced in 1994, The Jane Iredale range became the first full make-up line to offer not just colour enhancement but also benefits to the skin. From her numerous shades of foundations in powder, cream and liquid finishes to lip colours, stains and glosses to lip and eye pencils, blushers, eye shadows, mascaras and concealers, Jane’s versatile products always include extra natural ingredients not found in conventional cosmetics, to condition, moisturise and protect.

What is mineral make-up?

Mineral make-up is made of the purest inert ingredients that don’t contain harmful irritants. The minerals used are undiluted pure pigment, with no contaminants.

How does it benefit you?

Minerals have various benefits to the skin and are ideal ingredients for make-up as they are naturally coloured. Some minerals have sunscreens: Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide are among the best ones as they reflect light.

These particular minerals also are anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial. The soothing and weightless nature of minerals means they can be used on the most sensitive skin and are frequently used post-surgery.

Why choose minerals?

Every day more women and even men are choosing mineral make-up over traditional cosmetics. The lightweight texture and layered coverage gives a quick and versatile finish that suits men and women of all ages. The question ‘why choose minerals?’ can only be answered with ‘why would you not choose a cosmetic range that benefits the skin, allows it to function normally and looks fabulous?’
