Excessive facial and body hair can be a significant problem for dark skin. Not only is your hair prone to becoming ingrown, but other hair removal techniques like plucking, threading or waxing can also result in hyperpigmentation (dark patches).

Our IPL hair removal treatments give silky smooth results, ensuring you feel proud of your skin and confident in your appearance. They also mean you no longer have the hassle of dealing with unwanted hair.

At Brigstock Skin and Laser Centre we only use machines that are suitable for the treatment of all skin types, even the very darkest. Most laser machines are not suitable for use due to the high risk of burns on dark skin (types 5 and 6). Insurers will not provide cover for clinics using other machines. Our Sharplight Formax IPL machines come with a specially adapted head for type 6 skin.

At Brigstock Skin and Laser Centre we offer you a choice of treatment techniques for patients with dark skin. As well as the Sharplight IPL machines you can be treated with our Soprano XL Laser where applicable. The benefit of IPL treatment over the In Motion™ virtually pain-free treatment is the speed at which your treatment sessions can be completed.

The trade-off is that it isn’t quite as comfortable as the virtually pain-free laser treatments. We treat all areas of your body with IPL hair removal including the arms, bikini line, legs, stomach, back, neck, and face.
