Covid -19 Vaccinations Provided by BSL Clinical Team
The Brigstock Skin and Laser Team are proud to be playing their part in the Covid-19 Vaccination Program. Nurse Rozina and Dr Nilu have been hard at work immunising the elderly and frontline healthcare workers as part of their NHS roles which they conduct alongside their medical aesthetic duties at the Laser Clinic. The clinic’s operations manager, Christian Lyons, has also been providing support supervising vaccination clinics and helping set up the IT and reporting systems at the St Paul’s Church Covid-19 Vaccination Centre in Thornton Heath.
Teams from eleven local GP practices have been working together and the church throughout January immunising patients and additional vaccinations have also been provided by the GP teams at Croydon University Hospital to help increase the speed at which the vaccinations are delivered.
All those working in these vaccination clinics, including Nurse Rozina and Dr Nilu, have themselves been offered the Pfizer Covid-19 Vaccine which is stored at -70° to ensure they are protected against the virus and can continue to provide immunisations to patients and other essential services.
At the time of writing, this article over 6,000,000 people have been vaccinated including many of the most vulnerable, helping bring an end to lock down and the pandemic restrictions ever closer. This is unquestionably the biggest vaccination program that the NHS has ever undertaken and in many ways has the feel of a wartime effort; the virus playing the part of a common enemy.
The BSL team have managed to play their part in this program whilst maintaining the clinic’s medical aesthetic treatments to you our clients. It is hoped the efforts of the team will in some small way to help us all return to some semblance of normality sooner rather than later.
