Celebrities reveal their secrets to younger looking skin

Your looks and appearance matter if you’re a celebrity. A bad paparazzi picture can have serious consequences if your career relies on your looks. This is why so many celebrities place so much importance on their appearance and particularly their skin. If you’d like to understand what the best treatments are for maintaining younger-looking healthy skin it’s worth considering what the professionals do.

Here’s a list of seven of the world’s top celebrities and what they have revealed about their skin therapies.

Halle Berry is quite an inspiration. It’s hard to believe that she’ll be 50 this year. Halle has announced in the past that she’s a big fan of the Kinara Skin Care Clinic in LA. The clinic specialises in a range of skincare products as well as treatments. She uses their cleansers and moisturisers in the morning and the evening and never leaves the house without organic sunscreen. She also tries to go without makeup whenever she can to give her skin a rest.

At 46 Cate Blanchett’s looks and skin are an inspiration. The Australian actress swears by the SK-II range of skin products that include the signature ingredient PiteraTM. Apparently, the SK-II scientists discovered PiteraTM when they noticed the hands of aged sake brewers in Japan looked much younger than their owner’s faces. Whatever the truth behind this story SK-II is a quality skin therapy system and certainly works for Cate.

Kim Kardashian West has disclosed that she’s a big fan of Fraxel laser treatments. Fraxel lasers work by introducing controlled trauma to the skin, which in turn increases collagen production giving your skin a more youthful-looking appearance. Stimulating collagen production in this way is a common method of rejuvenating the skin and can also be achieved through IPL or derma roller treatments.

Chemical peels appear to be Jennifer Aniston’s secret to youthful-looking skin. She revealed on Conan O’Brien’s talk show that after a deep skin peel “You look like a battered burn victim for a week”. It’s hardly a glowing indictment for the treatment but results are clear to see. At 47 she looks amazing and her skin positively glows. In addition to the peels, she also uses Mila Moursi Rejuvenating Serum daily. At $365 a bottle, it’s clearly something she values.

Reese Witherspoon is interesting. Instead of bemoaning the benefits of aesthetic procedure she instead puts the success of her skin down to her diet and exercise regimes. You are what you eat and your skin is a fantastic indication of your internal health. She does, however, recognise the benefits of a good quality moisturiser and has told style magazine that she’s a fan of Chanel’s Hydramax Active Moisture Cream.

Sunscreen is Jennifer Lopez’s top skin tip. She’s also a fan of Plazen Placenta Collagen Masks. The masks are an interesting but time-consuming therapy that can take hours to complete. Using a good quality sunscreen, on the other hand, is a quick and easy tip we should all adopt. Jennifer is certainly a good advert for actually taking some time to focus on your skin’s health, because at 46, Jennifer does look exceptional. Maybe then it is worth considering scheduling an extra couple of hours on your skin from time to time.

A good night’s sleep is all it takes according to Sienna Miller. That and a little Amorepacific ABC Serum. The serum is designed to manage your essential skin functions, rebalancing the skin’s natural rhythm. It certainly seems to work for Sienna as her skin does indeed appear to be perfectly balanced.

So that’s how seven of the world’s most beautiful women tell us they care for their fabulous skin. The specific products might vary from celebrity to celebrity, but the same themes we hear time and time again remain.

  • Eat well
  • Exercise
  • Get a good night’s sleep
  • Moisturise
  • Cleanse
  • Use a good quality sunblock

On the whole, most celebrities are naturally a little coy about the full extent of their aesthetic procedures. Although a couple of the celebrities listed here have mentioned peels and lasers feature as part of their skin maintenance, interestingly none of them has admitted to using wrinkle-reducing injections or fillers which is surprising considering that they are the most popular non-surgical treatments in use in the world today. Then again we can’t expect celebrities to give away all their secrets, can we?
